This project has a great backstory! During a lull in ownership of this Victorian mansion, a section of the elaborate wall mural in the billiard room was torn off by a teenaged prankster.
Decades later, upon his deathbed, the prankster was overcome with repentance and divulged the secret hiding place of the mural section.
The rolled canvas was returned to the mansion, to the ambitious hands of the new owners, who are undertaking a grand restoration of the mansion. We had the pleasure of resetting the mural onto the wall. We cleaned the back of the mural, remounted the canvas in position, replaced missing molding pieces, and filled and toned damaged areas to match the original design.
